The Wells County Historical Society was founded in 1935, initiated to plan the 1937 Centennial Celebration of Wells County. Its purpose then, as now, is to preserve the rich heritage of Wells County and its residents - past and present.

 

Membership Dues are minimal:

Student: $ 5.00 per year

Individual: $ 10.00 per year

Family: $ 15.00 per year

Patron: $ 25.00 per year

 

Lifetime: $150.00

 

At the present time the museum is open on Sunday afternoons from 1-4 pm through October. The Museum will then be closed until the Christmas At The Mansion starts in December.

 

The Society’s Annual Fall Meeting will be at the museum on Monday, October 19 at 7:00 p.m. Our speaker will be Joe Krom who has written a book on William Wells and his wife Sweet Breeze. The meeting is open to the public.

 

The Historical Society would like to thank General Manufacturing, Inc and Gerber Interior Designs for co-sponsoring our 2009 Street Fair Photo Contest.  A reception for all participants was held Sunday, October 11th at the museum.

Wells County Genealogy

 

The Wells County Genealogy Society has put together a Cookbook. Cookbooks are available at the Wells County Historical Museum. Price is $10.00
